There will be a meeting on Wednesday (12 October) at 4:00 PM in Lowry 119 for students who think they might be interested in participating in a College of Wooster summer study program in India this summer.

Wooster in Northeast India, to be led by Professor Pozefsky, will take place from 16 May – 16 June 2012. It will begin with travel to Delhi and Agra (the site of the Taj Mahal) and conclude with a week in Darjeerling and Sikkim in the Himalayas. The core of the program will take place in the mountain city of Shillong in the state of Meghalaya in the Northeast Corner of India.

The program will offer  two full-credit courses, one on Contemporary India that can count toward elective credit in Political Science or History and one on Indian Culture and the Environment that counts towards the Environmental Studies Minor. Both courses will look at the ethnically diverse cultures of the people of Northeast India, with special attention given to its indigenous groups.

The Program is open to students in all Departments and Programs and at all levels.
