Dr. King

Dr. King

You should have heard many details by now – we just want to encourage to get out this week and explore some of the opportunities on hand for the commemoration/celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at the College.

Tonight! Sunday, Jan. 18 at 7pm there will be a showing of “The Farm: Angola, USA,” the 1998 award-winning documentary set in America’s infamous maximum security prison in Angola, Louisiana. Jonathan Stack, the Director, is going to be on hand Sunday and Monday. Details at IMDB.

Tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 19, the day begins at 7:30am with the Interfaith Prayer Breakfast in Kittredge and 9am with the Opening Ceremony at McGaw. Plan to attend the Dialogue Sessions and the Service Projects. Among others you might join Prof. King on Ferguson (1:45pm, CORE) or Prof. Strauch on the history of this commemorative day (10:30am, Kauke 236).

The full details – and a complete listing of events – are on http://mlk.scotblogs.wooster.edu

And stay tuned. We have more happening this week: a roundtable on Charlie Hebdo this Wednesday at 4pm in Kauke Tower and a talk on Friday at 3pm on Iraqi women war refugees.

We hope to see you there!
