Our next alumni spotlight is Abigail Padfield Narayan, graduate of 2008. Here is a little about her experience after the College of Wooster!
“I am currently a PhD student at the University of Central Florida in Texts and Technology, focusing on Public History, and the Academic Programs Coordinator at Spurlock Museum of World Cultures.
I would encourage current COW students to take any and all opportunities. Apply for internships that interest you, do that study abroad program, whatever opportunity it is go for it. It may be great or it may help you decide that that thing isn’t something you want to do. But you won’t know unless you try.
What has helped me in my career path was understanding the skills (analytical, communication, research, writing) I learned and used as a history student were transferable to other industries. I’ve worked in childcare, IT, libraries, and taught elementary and college classes and used these skills in varying degrees in each position.”
