In fulfillment of Professor Madonna Hettinger’s workshop course on Public History, we have created a short documentary film chronicling current student views as well as faculty views on the Galpin Takeover, a critical event in Wooster’s history. If you are unaware, the Galpin Takeover took place on April 20, 1989 and was an organized, peaceful protest to stand up for the rights of African American students at The College of Wooster. This event sparked important conversation then and we hope that it will do so amongst the Wooster community now.
The short film showing will take place in Lowry Pit on Saturday April 19th at 2pm.
We hope to see you there.
Best,
