Please join us Thursday, February 16th at 11:00 A.M. in Kauke Tower for the first round of Senior I.S. Presentations at Café Bob!
Helen Doherty will be discussing her Senior I.S. titled “The Experience of Silence: Japanese-American Internment Camps During World War II.” Very few people know the details about the internment of the Japanese-Americans during World War II. Helen’s I.S. brings light to these amazingly strong people who lost their homes, belongings, and voices and shares their stories.
Mary Elizabeth Walters will be talking about her Junior Independent Study titled “Independence or Annihilation: Why Ideology Mattered in Maintaining Confederates’ Motivation to Fight in the Civil War” which she will present at the Missouri Valley History Conference. She will also discuss her experiences of applying for the conference and shed some light about the application process.
Keep a look out for future presentations about I.S.’s involving oral history and living history. If you would like to present your I.S., please talk to Prof. Baumgartner (kbaumgartner@wooster.edu) or Prof. Hettinger (mhettinger@wooster.edu).
